Grants

The Dolmen Club house does apply for grants where possible to help cover operational costs to increase the club’s ability to help its members. Grants can be used to cover a variety of activities or to purchase equipment for its members that the club would not normally be in a position to provide due to limited funding. The Dolmen Club may apply for grants to improve the facilities such as garden, ecological systems, computers/laptops, electrical, educational and entertainment equipment.

Flag Day Bucket Collection

As part of our funding model we are allowed to carry out one flag day bucket collection per year to help raise much needed funds  for our clubs and its members, this usually involves us organising a permit with the Garda Síochána to allow us to carry out a financial collection. If we wish to carry out a collection on a owned premises we will first seek the owner’s permission before we attempt to carry out a collection on their premises. All of our collections are carried out with tamper proof lock sealed buckets which are clearly labelled “Dolmen Club House,” the only person who has the key to the buckets is the manager. After the collection the buckets are opened by the manager in the presence of others, no one person is left by themselves with an open bucket to ensure accountability. The monies are counted by a group of people overseen by the manager and bagged, the monies will then lodged into the Dolmen Club House’s bank account within 24 hours of the collection or first thing Monday morning in case of a weekend or Friday collection.  We are legally obliged to inform the Garda Síochána how much was collected on the day via the permit returns form.

Donations

With donations it is extremely important that there is accountability, when an individual or an organisation gives us a financial donation, it is not only the donation they are giving us, but they are also giving us their trust and we must show that their trust is well placed. Financial donations will be lodged to the Dolmen Club House’s bank account within a 24 hour period, in the case of a weekend the following Monday morning. Every financial donation can be accounted for and tracked, so give with confidence. If you would like to donate money, goods or services we will be very grateful and we are happy to provide receipts for any donation given. 

Produce and other events

From time to time our members may create a product and with their permission we may look to sell their creation on to gain funds for the club and it’s members. The Dolmen Club house may randomly hold a sponsored coffee morning or raffles to get much need funds for our club.
